HANDS, FEET, & FACES CLASS STARTS MARCH 6

HANDS, FEET, & FACES
FIGURE DRAWING CLASS
with Ruthie V.

Experiment with a variety of media and approaches to drawing during this 4 week intensive course with Ruthie V.  Learn to see and respond to what is really there. Develop approaches to naturally expressive drawings, and increase your enjoyment of the process. Using charcoal, watercolors, inks, crayons, and a wide range of techniques, you will complete quick gesture sketches, powerful expressive drawings, and detailed studies. Start where you are: no previous art education is required. Every class is different, returning students welcome. In addition to focused instruction, students will receive a $2 discount at the Wednesday figure drawing sessions.

CLASS INFO:
This class will start in March. More info coming soon.

So I can give individualized instruction, class size is limited to 9 and will fill up quickly, so contact me to reserve your spot.

"This is the best art class ever!"
- Alice Johnson

"This is the best drawing class I've ever had!
I love how you devised seemingly general tasks and observations, then helped each individual to apply them to his/her personality and level of ability."
- Chris Dodd

"Thanks again for offering such a wonderful class. It's been great learning to truly see, while simultaneously learning to make marks just for the sake of exciting, loose marks. Plus, you are just a lot of fun. Tons of new info and usage of materials to incorporate for me but...that just leads me to ask if you would sign me up for your fall session!
-Karen Caemmerer

"Thank you for the figure drawing class... I learned so much in it. You are so inspiring to be around and I admire your vision... it so personally reflects your unique spirit."
- Renee Cheesman

"Thanks again, you were true to what you saw in each of us, an inspiring and inspired artist in all that you gave us.
- Scott

Why Draw?
Just as with any language, drawing is a skill that anyone can learn. With practice you gain the ability to focus, relax, and see what's really there. With practice your hand/eye coordination improves, as does your evaluation of marks on the page.  Artists draw the human figure for the same reasons musicians play scales. It is a foundational study that all else is built on. I can think of no other daily practice that is more important to visual artists. If you can draw the figure, you can draw anything. That is why I host weekly figure drawing sessions, and welcome artists in our community to attend. If you would like to draw, please feel free to join us anytime.
